Senior technology leaders from three major international broadcasters that are currently involved in major IP-based infrastructure builds will take part in a panel called “The Broadcaster C-Suite Part-1: Navigating the Transition to IP, Best Practice and Lessons Learned,” where they will provide a candid update about the migration to IP-based broadcast infrastructure at their respective organizations, and discuss what is still required to complete their IP transition.
Roger Crothers, Head of Technology at BBC Wales, Adde Granberg, Chief Technology Officer at Swedish Television, and Brad Wall, SVP Network Operations at the Disney – ABC Television Group will appear on the panel, which will be moderated by media technology consultant and aspiring Ski bum, Michel Proulx.
This session is part of the eighth-annual “Devoncroft Executive Summit | Las Vegas: The Business of Media Technology,” which will take place Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 12-5 p.m. at the ARIA Las Vegas in the Orovada Ballroom and co-located with Avid Connect.
Please note the 2019 Devoncroft Summit is in a new location – the ARIA Hotel Las Vegas
Whether you’re a buyer or supplier of media technology, if you want to understand the actual state of the IP transition today, this panel offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from the technical decision makers at some of the world’s largest and most-respected broadcasters about their real-world experiences – good and bad – of building a broadcast facility using IP-based infrastructure.
Discussion topics will include the commercial drivers for the move to IP, the role of standards such as ST-2110 and its adoption by technology suppliers, interoperability, device discovery, what’s worked, what is still required to complete their migration to IP, and best practice for those contemplating the migration to IP-based broadcast infrastructure.
“The Devoncroft Executive Summit is the premier event where C-Level executives from across the industry can debate and discuss the commercial issues facing their organizations, and how this has and will impact their technology investment and deployment strategies,” said Devoncroft founder Joe Zaller. “Because the Summit’s unique format examines evolving business model issues through the lens of business leaders in each part of the media ecosystem, delegates can gain a 360-degree view of the commercial challenges and opportunities facing the media technology industry.”
The Broadcaster C-Suite Part-1: Navigating the Transition to IP, Best Practice and Lessons Learned,” is just one of the sessions at the Devoncroft Summit. In total, more than 20 C-Level speakers will participate in the half-day program.
Considered by many to be one of the must-attend events ahead of the NAB Show, Devoncroft’s annual Las Vegas Summit has grown organically into one of the most important events of the year, as it continues to attract senior executives from across all parts of the media technology ecosystem, who come to network, collaborate with partners, and learn from industry thought leaders.
The full agenda includes panel discussions featuring thought leaders from across the entire media value chain. C-level executives from leading broadcasters, media technology vendors, IT vendors, and cloud titans will offer candid assessments of the business impact of market developments on their business models, operational practices, and strategic decision-making.
In addition to executive panel discussions, the Summit will also provide an overview of the most up-to-date industry market research and analysis from Devoncroft Partners and its affiliates. This includes preliminary findings from the 2019 Devoncroft Partners Big Broadcast Survey, the industry’s definitive demand-side market study, the Devoncroft M&E Cloud Adoption Index, and the Devoncroft M&E IP Adoption Index; along with an overview of the latest market sizing and forecasting figures from the widely referenced Global Market Valuation Report (GMVR) which is published through a 50-50 joint venture between Devoncroft and industry trade association IABM.
This event is designed for senior executives from media companies, technology suppliers, finance professionals, and industry strategists that want to gain a deeper understanding of the perspective of executive decision makers on business developments in the media technology sector. The Summit’s unique format makes it a thought-provoking kickoff to the 2019 NAB Show, as well as a great networking opportunity.
Now in its eighth year, the Summit remains the only conference where you’ll learn about the business and technology investment strategies of the world’s largest broadcasters, directly from the final decision makers.
