Leading technologists to discuss and debate how broadcasters and media companies can generate new levels of operational efficiency through cloud, virtualization, and supply chain management

A panel of thought-leading technologists will take part in a panel called “Next Generation Media Architecture Economics: Driving New Levels of Efficiency through Cloud & Supply Chain Management” where they will discuss and debate how media companies can dramatically improve their operational efficiency through virtualization, cloud, and supply chain management techniques.

Lynn Comp, VP, Data Center Group and GM, Visual Cloud Division at Intel Corporation, Jeff Kember Harshman, Technical Director, M&E Office of the CTO at Google Cloud, Michelle Munson, Co-Founder and CEO of Eluvio, and Dave Ward, CTO of Engineering and Chief Architect at Cisco Systems will appear on the panel, which will be moderated by Janet Gardner, founder and president of Perspective Media Group.

This session is part of the seventh-annual “Devoncroft Executive Summit: The Business of Media Technology,” which will take place Sunday, April 8 from 1-5 p.m. at the Wynn Las Vegas in Latour Ballroom, and co-located with Avid Connect.

The full agenda for the 2018 Devoncroft Executive Summit is here.

Please note new location – the Devoncroft Summit is NOT in the LVCC this year

This panel provides a unique opportunity to hear directly from the business leaders at some of the largest and most-respected providers cloud platforms, data center architecture, IT infrastructure, and media applications about how future media workflows will be driven by software-defined systems that work together on-premises, or in one or more cloud platforms, and managed via media supply chain systems.

Discussion topics will include:

  • * What are the economics of next generation media workflows and how and when can media companies justify investing in new technology platforms?

  • * The efficiency challenge for the M&E industry, and how virtualization, cloud platforms, and supply chain management can drive real-world ROI

  • * What is media supply chain, and why might broadcasters need to have more than one

  • * What services have IT and cloud titans created for other industry verticals that can be immediately leveraged for the M&E use case to generate increased operational efficiencies?

  • * What are the components of the next generation media supply chain? Who or what is in control? What is the ultimate management layer – today and in the future?

“The Devoncroft Executive Summit is the one event at the NAB Show where C-Level executives from across the industry can debate and discuss the commercial issues facing their organizations, and how this has and will impact their technology investment and deployment strategies,” said Devoncroft founder Joe Zaller.  “Because the Summit’s unique format examines evolving business model issues through the lens of business leaders in each part of the media ecosystem, delegates can gain a 360-degree view of the commercial challenges and opportunities facing the media technology industry.”

“Next Generation Media Architecture Economics: Driving New Levels of Efficiency through Cloud & Supply Chain Management”” is just one of the sessions at the Devoncroft Summit. In total, more than 20 C-Level speakers will participate in the half-day program. Over the past seven years, this event has grown organically into one of the most important events of the year, as it continues to attract senior executives from across all parts of the media technology ecosystem, who come to network, collaborate with partners, and learn from industry thought leaders.

The full agenda includes panel discussions featuring thought leaders from across the entire media value chain.  C-level executives from leading broadcasters, service providers, media technology vendors, and IT vendors will offer candid assessments of the business impact of market developments on their business models, operational practices, and strategic decision making.

In addition to executive panel discussions, the Summit will also provide an overview of the most up-to-date industry market research and analysis from Devoncroft Partners and its affiliates.  This includes preliminary findings from the 2018 Devoncroft Partners Big Broadcast Survey, the industry’s definitive demand-side market study, the Devoncroft M&E Cloud Adoption Index, and the Devoncroft M&E IP Adoption Index; along with an overview of the latest market sizing and forecasting figures from the widely-referenced Global Market Valuation Report (GMVR) which is published through a 50-50 joint venture between Devoncroft and industry trade association IABM.

This event is designed for senior executives from media companies, technology suppliers, finance professionals, and industry strategists that want to gain a deeper understanding of the perspective of executive decision makers on business developments in the media technology sector. The Summit’s unique format makes it a thought-provoking kickoff to the 2018 NAB Show, as well as a great networking opportunity.
